Update on Gay’s healing 2/20

God is so good.  Gay came home today.  For the first time in 2 months, Gay was greeted by our German Shepherd, Angus. He is so happy to see the whole pack back in the house. We are so pleased to be able to sleep in the same house.

Many of you know that Gay made two trips to the hospital for dehydration, reactions to medication, and a terrible imbalance of certain chemicals in her body. She became ill, weak, and confused. Each trip in the Ambulance to the ER was an attack by the enemy to try to set us back. He wanted to instill doubt, fear, and faithlessness in us. But you all prayed. God heard our prayers, and she is home today, celebrating another victory.

The illnesses were real and life-threatening. The pain Gay had to walk through was and is difficult to bear. The path to which we are called is sometimes hard to see through the illnesses and pain. But God’s promises are real and always “Yes” and “Amen”. (2 Corinthians 1:20)

Saturday afternoon, Feb 10, Gay was taken by ambulance to the ER, unresponsive, irrational, and in dire straits. I prayed and cried all night. By Sunday morning, I was broken and could only hear a cry for help that read simply, “We need a miracle.” Many of you received that message and prayed. Early Monday morning, Gay woke up suddenly with no sickness and no remembrance of the pain.

Sunday Afternoon, Feb 18, we rushed Gay back to the hospital for what looked like the same symptoms coming back. When she arrived, they took her directly to a patient room and began to run tests to find out why this was happening again. They drew blood and more blood. They took samples of this and that and pictures in a couple of different ways. I knelt next to Gay’s bed, and she reassured me by simply praying, “Let the test results be normal.” Indeed, when the doctor came in to tell us all the news, he reported all the numbers and facts by telling us it all looked good. Except that he would like to reduce some of the medications she was taking. God is so good. The circumstances said we would need more treatment, medication, and perhaps another specialist. But God said to stay the course toward healing and REDUCE the need for treatment and medications.

On Feb 19, we returned to the rehab and completed the IV course. The next morning (today), I took Gay to our house. Gay is HOME! Praise God.

Keep praying for us because we still have a few more procedures before the complete restoration of Gay’s foot and ankle. But God has brought us this far and I am confident his are is not too short. He is standing in the water holding back the sea – There is another in the fire standing next to me.

Be blessed – much joy, peace and happiness to you,

Chris and Gay

Chris attended Indiana University where he met and married Gay. He graduated with a BS in Elementary Education in 1980. In 1999 Chris and his wife Gay co-founded Genesis 2-24 Ministries in Seymour, Indiana where they currently live. Genesis 2:24 Ministries is a marriage ministry whose mission is to "Restore Marriage to the Honorable Place described in God’s Word". They do this through individual pre-marital and marital guidance, small group education and community events. Since the inception of the ministry they have seen God do miraculous things in the lives of the couples. We have noticed that few couples actually want to be divorced, they simply do not know how to live happily ever after. We want to provide ideas and tactics straight from the Bible that if applied will lead to marital bliss. We want nothing more than to see the Word "divorce" be taken out of our language. Chris Enjoys: reading (often with Gay) backpacking, fishing, playing guitar, riding the motorcycle (always with Gay) and playing with his grandson Lucas (the game doesn’t matter).
