About Us

Chris and Gay Broughton were married in 1979 while attending Indiana University.  They have one son (Jeremiah), three grandsons, and one granddaughter. They split their time between Seymour, Indiana, and Hytop, Alabama.

In 1997 they began offering help to married couples.  In 2006 Chris and Gay felt a strong call to leave their corporate jobs to spend more time in ministry to married couples, so Genesis 2:24 Ministries was founded.

Our Call

It is a standard joke in American entertainment that a couple cannot be in agreement or live happily all the time, and that is just how it is.  Our culture is teaching us to accept that as reality.  We are taught that divorce is an easy and acceptable remedy to marital strife. The reality is that marital strife and divorce are simply tools of the enemy to destroy families.  Sadly,  the church often remains silent on the matter or spends more energy working to soothe the pain of divorce than stopping this abomination in the first place.

God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), and more than half of marriages in America end in divorce.  It is the call of Genesis 2:24 Ministries to come alongside couples and to teach them that God has an answer to how to live happily ever after.  We will be available whenever and however and to whomever, God connects us.  God has been clear that he will provide for our needs (Philippians 4:19), so there we will never charge for any ministry.

Our Mission:  To restore marriage to that place of honor described in God’s word.

Our Vineyard: We are believing that divorce to be ended in our lifetime. God has called us to believe all marriages will succeed and enjoy the blessing and joy intended by the inventor of marriage, God.
