We plan to kick off the Gathering 2025 celebration by reading the Bible aloud at Crossroads Park. We will start with Proverbs at 5:00 PM on June 3 and finish with Revelation at 5:00 PM on June 6. The purpose of the Seymour Gathering is to celebrate Jesus, present the Gospel in our community, and populate the Kingdom. This community effort will be supported by more than 100 individuals from diverse backgrounds and houses of worship within our community. Each reader will read for twelve minutes, then pray for the next reader for twelve minutes.
What? We plan to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation to the community.
Why? We will present the Proverbs and the entire New Testament because:
- John 1:1-5 says: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things came to be through him, and without him, nothing made had been. In him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not suppressed it.
- John 1:14 says: The Word became a human being and lived with us, and we saw his Sh’khinah, the Sh’khinah of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.
- Joshua 1:18 tells us to keep this Book of the Law always on our lips; meditate on it day and night so that we may be careful to do everything written in it. Then, you will be prosperous and successful.
When: Please hear God’s Word during the time listed below. There will be persons present ready and willing to help you understand the Word and to pray for your needs.
- June 3, 5:00-9:00 PM
- June 4, 6:00-9:00 PM
- June 5, 12:00 noon- 9:00 PM
- June 6, 12:00 Noon- 5:30 PM
The culmination of the reading will be just in time for the first Praise, Worship, and Teaching service of Gathering 2025 at 6:30 PM on June 6.
Where? We will set up a podium on the stage of the JCB Pavilion at Crossroads Park in Seymour, Indiana, and provide a place for prayer there.
Who? More than 100 volunteers from around our community. We will provide security, technical assistance, and refreshments throughout our entire stay at the park. You can do this as an individual, a church, or an organization.
