Marriage Applications - Haggai
The Prophesy of Haggai was written in the y:
- The name Haggai means festival of festival sacrifice.
- He prophesied for four months, and then Zachariah began his service. His prophesy ends abruptly at the end of his divine commission.
- Ezra chapters 5-6 mention both Haggai and Zachariah
- The king mentioned here (Darius) is the King of Persia. Persia would be the modern-day Iran. King Darius was well known for his building projects worldwide and was instrumental in rebuilding the temple. The temple was destroyed when Babylon conquered Israel and captured many (RE: Daniel).
- Haggai's main message was to call the people from their laziness and preach the call from God to build the temple.
Today, we are to build the temple by going into all the world and making disciples. The prophecy of Haggai is another example of "These days are those days, and those days are these days." We need to listen to the prophets; they tell us the way, the truth, and the life.
